By Using Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

It has been only several years since a laparoscopic section was set up at South Hwanghae Provincial Maternity Hospital. But the section is now capable of treating various women’s diseases, plus performing difficult operations.

This is unthinkable apart from the efforts of Jo Chang Gwon, chief of the section. With an interest in methods of laparoscopic surgery in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, which not only reduce the surgical burden for women but also meet the aesthetic requirements, he buckled down to relevant research. He delved into books on advanced medical sciences. At the same time he determined to manufacture some surgical apparatuses on his own and made strenuous efforts, thus manufacturing scores of apparatuses. 

In addition, he steadily conducted simulations and practical training to possess good operating skills and visited advanced units to learn relevant operating methods.

Finally, he succeeded in the first laparoscopic operation for infertility. Then he used advanced laparoscopic operating methods to flawlessly complete difficult laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy, to say nothing of the operation for ovarian cystoma, ectopic pregnancy and macrocyst.

He also directed efforts to improving the medical skills of his section members. Thanks to his help his section has now become a competent group.

Thanks to the high medical skills of its medical workers, many women recovered from their diseases and gave birth to pretty children.
