Producing Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan in Form of Extract

The Pharmaceutical Institute under the Academy of Medical Sciences has succeeded in manufacturing Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan in the form of extract.

One of traditional Koryo medicine, producing Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan in the form of extract is pretty difficult, as a lot of medicinal materials and techniques are needed to do so.

It was impossible to make Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan in the form of extract by traditional methods.

Rim Kwang Chol, a section chief, and researchers at the institute applied different extracting methods to 26 medicinal materials according to their origins and components and confirmed a rational and optimal method for obtaining extracts with best possible effects and high contents of effective elements. In this way they succeeded in producing Samhyang Uhwangchongsimhwan in the form of capsules.

The capsules produce quicker antipyretic, spasmolytic and detoxicating effects and more convenient to use than pill.

Their achievement was registered as a national sci-tech hit as it laid a scientific foundation for preparing all Koryo medicines containing various materials in the form of extract.
