To Bring Up Children to Be Healthier and More Intelligent
The Kaeson Nursery in Moranbong District, Pyongyang, devotes much effort to the nursing and upbringing of children.
The nursery pays close attention to the nutritional management of children. Its officials and cooks work out diverse daily menus and prepare all dishes with sincerity so that children eat them with relish.
It also closely observes the children and gives them prompt treatment if they show abnormal symptoms. It ensures that the children spend days at the nursery pleasantly singing songs, dancing and playing games.
It gives theoretical education to them so as to help them cultivate the ability to concentrate attention and observe things. As a result, the children who attended the nursery distinguish themselves as prodigies when they enrol at kindergartens.
Among the graduates from the nursery is Ri Ta Jong who won the first prize at the 33rd international festival of child and juvenile art works for her skilful playing of the small haegum.
Headmistress Kim Un Suk said, “The first 1 000 days are crucial in man’s life. Nutritional care in this period is particularly important. In this sense, one’s days at nursery are very important. What we are doing is not so big. But we will bring up the children to be healthier and more intelligent as their parents would do, bearing in mind that our work is a responsible undertaking to nurse the country’s future."
