Developing Efficient Medical Appliances

The medical appliances developed by the Haebangsan Medical Appliances Manufactory of Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences are enjoying popularity among medical institutions and individual users, as they are cheap and yet highly efficient.

A typical example is a portable pleoptophor which it developed last year. The locally-patented appliance is effective in improving the deteriorated visual acuity of prepubertal children.

It was appreciated at the National Exhibition of Sci-tech Achievements in Public Health Sector-2024 and other exhibitions.

In the past, the development team of the manufactory developed nucleic acid rapid test device and centrifugal separator for the diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases and introduced them into many units across the country. The February 16 Science and Technology Prize, the top prize of the country, was awarded to the core manufacturing technology of the devices.
