Factory Nursery

The Pyongyang Condiments Factory has a nursery for the children of its women employees.

The three-storeyed nursery is well furnished to suit the minds of children.

The playground, though not large, has a variety of sports apparatuses. And animation pictures are put up on the walls of the corridors and stairs.

While plump babies are practising walking with the help of nurses in the sunny room for sucklings, the children in the education classes are learning to dance and sing to the tune of the organ played by nurses.

Ri Chun Sim, headmistress of the nursery, said: “The children at our factory nursery, too, are regularly provided with foods according to the daily nutritious food supply norm for children set by the state.”

Kim Hyon Hui, a worker at the bean paste workshop, said that she works free from worries about her child because there is a nursery with good conditions and environment for childcare nearby to her workshop and its nurses take good care of the children with maternal affection.
