Mannyon Pharmacy Renovated

The Mannyon Pharmacy in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang, has been renovated.

The pharmacy is closely associated with the affection of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for the people. On May 15, 2022, when the pandemic was sweeping across the country, he visited it at the risk of his health and took measures for supplying medicines to the citizens of the capital city. That day he referred to the need to standardize the pharmacy and gave instructions on its management and operation.

The renovated pharmacy opened in August this year.

The pharmacy is divided into several sections so as to ensure the hygienic safety in handling medicines.

It has counters for Koryo medicines, modern medicines and medical appliances in the sales section, a consultation room and a waiting room in the prescription section and a test room and analysis room in the testing section.

What attracts attention is a room for decoctions near the Koryo medicine counter.

In the room they prepare decoctions according to the diseases and constitutional features of the patients by using an automatic decoction machine. The decoctions they produce are in high demand.

The pharmacy is also famous for the kind service of its saleswomen, particularly Kim Mi Gyong and Kim Un Gyong of the modern medicine counter.

They met Comrade Kim Jong Un on the day of his visit to the shop.

They explain to the visitors the kinds of modern medicines and the different effects antibiotics produce, even though they are of the same kind. As they explain in layman’s terms, the visitors acquire a lot of general medical knowledge.

They are role models for all other members of the pharmacy.
