Respected Dentist 

From olden times Koreans have regarded having healthy teeth as one of the five blessings.

Hwang Son Hui is a famous dentist at the Ryukkyo Polyclinic in Phyongchon District, Pyongyang.

After graduating from the Dental Faculty of Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences some 20 years ago, she was assigned to the dong clinic, the lowest medical care and prevention unit. Regarding this as an opportunity for deepening the knowledge she had learned at the university, she worked hard to accumulate clinical experience and widen her horizons. 

In this course she realized that desire alone was not enough to properly treat various kinds of dental diseases and that she had to improve her abilities decisively to do so.

She burned the midnight oil reading books on the latest dental science and technology and spent holidays learning advanced clinical experience even after she got married and became a mother of two.

Her painstaking efforts bore fruit.

She acquired skills of anaesthesia, an important practice in dental treatment and perfected various treatment techniques and methods. By actively applying these skills and techniques, she has treated many people under her charge and in other areas, commanding respect from them.         

In addition, she developed hamostatic agents with Koryo medicinal materials and various other kinds of medicines necessary for dental treatment, which have been appreciated at nearly ten sci-tech festivals and exhibitions including the 32nd National Sci-tech Festival.
