Master at Surgical Operation on Cerebral Nerve

Jong Kwang, chief of the cerebral nerve department of the Kim Man Yu Hospital, is a skillful doctor who has cured many serious cases.

Since he graduated from Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences and became a doctor specializing in cerebral nerve about 20 years ago, he has tried hard to find out good operation methods that minimize the occurrence of aftermath and cerebral tissue damage and have quick treatment effect, in the course of which he has perfected several advanced operation methods of great clinical value.

A typical example is the superficial temporal artery-middle cerebral artery direct vein anastomosis. As an operation method for ischemic cerebral vein diseases like transient ischemic attack and moyamoya disease, it is an advanced method recognized worldwide. As it gives less burden to the patient and produces better results than the previous indirect vein anastomosis, it is widely applied in clinical practice.

A man in Kanggye, Jagang Province, says that since he received an operation by this method from Jong Kwang two years ago, no abnormal symptoms have occurred and his thinking ability is normal.

In addition, he, together with Jang Yong Jun and Kil Sung Hyok, doctors at the department, has developed about ten advanced operation methods like dura mater multiple incision for curing subdural hematoma caused by injury on the head and cranioplasty using 3-D printing technology in lamina externa.

By applying new methods, he and other doctors at the department have in recent years cured many patients who were diagnosed as having lost ability to work or being impossible to recover.
