A Veteran Researcher Specializing in Hereditary Diseases
There is a researcher who enjoys respect from all the medical workers at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital. He is none other than Dr Kim Hwan Song, 77, researcher at the genetics research department of the hospital.
He is a veteran researcher who has devoted his whole life to the research work to prevent hereditary diseases since the inauguration of the hospital. In the past he advanced a new method of separating and certifying human chromosome for the first time in the country, which contributed to diagnosing the state of foetus before birth. In his advanced age, he resigned from department head, but he still works with youthful vigour for the health of the women.
He has received many certificates of registration of sci-tech achievements including a certificate of invention.
