“Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene”

Washing hands with soap is one of the most effective and simplest methods for protecting and promoting one’s health. Hand hygiene is much highlighted today when COVID-19 is raging across the whole world.

WHO and UNICEF designated October 15 every year as the Global Handwashing Day with an eye to heightening the public awareness of importance of washing hands with soap and translating the policy on handwashing into mass-based action. The theme for this year’s Global Handwashing Day is “Unite for Universal Hand Hygiene.”

In the DPRK, information and education activities are intensified to have all people wash hands correctly in their residential districts, workplaces and public areas as required by the intensified and reinforced normal epidemic prevention work system, and children are taught to have correct knowledge of handwashing methods and observe hand hygiene voluntarily from very young age.
