How the Law on Spring Water Management Was Enacted
The Law of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Spring Water Management stipulates that scientific standards shall be set and observed for hygienic safety in the production and supply of spring water.
One September day in Juche 105 (2016), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, visited the Ryongaksan Spring Water Bottling Factory.
The factory is located in the area of Mt Ryongak in the capital city of Pyongyang.
From olden times, the area with beautiful scenery and clear water has been well-known across the country as many residents lived long.
The factory, commissioned in Juche 96 (2007), was bottling tasty and quality spring water in large quantities to supply it to the people.
Looking round it, Kim Jong Un stressed that providing people with spring water was not merely a matter of supplying them with drinking water but an issue of the serve-the-people spirit. He then specified the tasks for ensuring normal production at a high level, including the ones of taking a necessary measure for prompt transport of bottled spring water and scrupulously organizing the work of standardizing and diversifying the colour and shape of glass bottles.
That day, he paid a special attention to framing a law and regulations for evaluating the quality of spring water and controlling its production, and gave detailed instructions to this end.
As a result, the Law of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on Spring Water Management was adopted, and the state now ensures that scientific standards of hygienic safety are set and strictly observed in the production and supply of spring water.
