His Happiness
In late March 1993, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Songdowon International Children’s Camp, on receiving a report that the camp had been renovated and expanded.
Feasting his eyes on the facelifted camp, he expressed his satisfaction over the camp’s location and exterior formation.
Looking at the appliances at the kitchen one after another, he told the officials to replace the ice-cream machine with an updated one, and he said at the room for birthday party that the campers who were greeting their birthday at the camp would be happy if they received congratulations and had photos taken during their camping days.
That day, Kim Jong Il gave instructions on building an aquarium, sending plastic boats for the wading pool and installing amusement facilities on the vacant lot beside the wading pool.
The Chairman was always on his inspection tour to army units to defend the cheerful laughter of children, and he felt relieved of fatigue accumulated in the tour when he heard children singing merrily.
