Not a Businesslike Issue

When visiting the Pyongyang Pharmaceutical Factory one January day years ago, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that it was necessary to modernize the factory in order to supply more medicines to the people, adding that it was not merely a businesslike issue for increasing the production of medicines but an important, sacred and worthwhile struggle for protecting and promoting the lives and health of the people and making them realize the superiority of socialist healthcare system and the Workers’ Party of Korea’s public health policy through their lives, not through words or texts.

He earnestly continued: We must improve the socialist public health service, the work to promote the people’s health and protect their health, even at the cost of a colossal amount of money. The people will believe in the people-oriented character of the Party’s public health policy only when the benefits of socialist public health reach their skin and flesh. Public health takes the first place in making the people realize that the Party’s people-oriented policy is good.

Indeed, his instructions of that day reminded the officials once again of the meaning of the spirit of making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people.
