Naming a Hospital
On September 23, 2013, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a dental hospital whose construction was near completion.
That day he stressed the need to make good preparations for running the hospital. Now that we have built a modern dental hospital, we should ensure that it proves its worth, he said, adding that to this end, the departments should be staffed with competent doctors, prosthetists and nurses, who would constitute their core forces.
Saying that it was necessary to give the hospital a good name, he looked at the officials for a while in deep thought.
Then he said: Some suggest naming it Pyongyang Dental Hospital. If it is a big, modern hospital like Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, it could be named after Pyongyang. But I think it would be good to name it Ryugyong Dental Hospital after Ryugyong which is a symbolic name of Pyongyang.
The name of the hospital is associated with his noble intention to give priority to content over form and make its name dear and friendly to the people.
