Estimating Desk Height

One day in July 1967 the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il visited the kindergarten of the then Ragwon Cooperative Farm in Toksong County, South Hamgyong Province.

While looking round the kindergarten, he estimated the height of the desks and chairs in the education room. Seeing that the desks were too high for the kindergarten children, he told officials to make the desks a little lower.

Saying that the height of the chairs was appropriate but the desks were too high, he told the officials that it would not only be inconvenient to use but also have a bad effect on the growth of children.

By saying so he stressed the need to ensure the balanced physical development of all children and schoolchildren by supplying school fixtures as suited to the hygienic requirements for children.
