Meticulous Concern for Medical Appliance

One Sunday in February 1971, President Kim Il Sung, during his field guidance at a local area, heard from officials that a branch factory of a tool factory was making various medical appliances including those for exercising joints.

He called at the factory, saying that he thought about the problem of a medical appliance those days and it was interesting for a small branch factory to make it.

On the floor of the branch factory were the appliance and tablet-shaping machine that had just been assembled.

After looking closely into it, he highly appreciated it.

Then he, after thinking about something for a while, asked the officials of the factory if they could not make more sophisticated medical appliances, and asked them to try to make medical appliances for dental and otolaryngological treatment.

He proposed holding a consultation there and then to discuss the issue.

First, he inquired what the problem in making the medical appliances was and how the equipment of the factory and the technical level of the workers were.

Then he stressed the importance of producing medical appliances and exhorted the factory to try to make a modern comprehensive medical appliance.

On his return from his field guidance, he saw to it that the branch factory was built up as a specialized medical appliance factory, and that a latest dental chair was sent to the factory to refer to it in producing such an apparatus.
