For a Shock Brigade Member

One day in August Juche 65 (1976), Chairman Kim Jong Il received a report that a battalion commander of the High-Speed Youth Shock Brigade was severely injured in an accident and rushed to a hospital.

He called a senior official in the sector of public health and told him to take prompt measures for treating him.

The official told him that a surgery was performed on the patient, but he was still in a coma. Kim Jong Il advised the official to form a second medical team with able doctors and send with them medicines efficacious for helping the patient regain consciousness.

More than ten authoritative medical workers including a doctor of medicine started to treat him and finally brought him back to consciousness.

After several months the patient fully recovered, but Kim Jong Il, saying that he could not be in good health, took the measure of assigning a doctor and a nurse to him so that he could continue to receive treatment on site.
