Holidays Organized for Actors
One day in November 1988, the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il telephoned an official of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
He told the official that he called him as he wanted him to organize a holiday project, adding that almost all the creative workers and artistes in the field of cinematic art, including film stars, got old and weak over time, and that it would be a good idea to plan a vacation for them at a holiday camp.
Several days back, Comrade Kim Jong Il provided his guidance to a newly-produced feature film. Looking carefully at the actors’ faces on the screen, he learned in detail about the age and health conditions of the creators and artistes with a long career in the field of cinematic art.
Saying it was a problem that all the famous actors and creators got old and weak, he continued that we should value and take loving care of the veteran actors and creators both for their own sake and for our people who love art. Then he stressed the need to take a measure for their treatment and make an arrangement for their vacation.
This time he referred once again to the issue of organizing a vacation for the veteran creators and artistes and personally chose a place for the project.
Under his care they left for a holiday camp.
